Hernan Crespo confident on come back of Torres

Striker Hernan Crespo, who is one of the few to have played as a striker in Italian and English football in the last two decades, says that he expects Chelsea striker Fernando Torres to come good at AC Milan.

The Spaniard moved to the Italian outfit during the summer on a two-year loan spell, which effectively means that his career with Chelsea has come to an end given that he has only two years of contract left with the English club. Torres has been a major disappointment since his move to Chelsea. He has averaged only around one goal per three or four matches.

This resulted in Chelsea deciding to cut their losses and bring in Diego Costa instead. The move has worked extremely well for the West London outfit, as they have stormed to the top of the Premier League. Milan also made a good start to the campaign, but they have struggled for goals in recent weeks. Torres has been unable to find the back of the net on other occasions apart from his debut goal a few weeks ago. Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi recently bagged Torres to come good in the upcoming matches. This is also the view of Crespo, who also played for Chelsea and AC Milan.

“If Inzaghi is convinced, I still think it is possible.Even I arrived at Milan on loan from Chelsea and I was not in a great shape. The only thing I focused on was to work hard and utilise the opportunities that Carlo Ancelotti provided me.At the end of the season I scored 18 goals for the club,” said Crespo as he recalled a similar loan spell that brought him to the Italian outfit. Torres has recently suffered an injury that has kept him out of the starting line-up for the last few matches.
