Wengar Interested In Casillas

Arsene Wenger has been reported to have telephoned Iker Casillas to ask him if he is interested to play in the English league.
Casillas has been a Real Madrid player for a long time, but, he is no longer a first choice there. He had played in the European Cup matches last season though, but, in the league, he had only featured a couple of times.

Casillas would most probably be on the bench for Los Blancos this summer as well especially after the outing that he had in the FIFA World Cup 2014.

Wenger wants to take advantage of this situation of Casillas and lure him to the Emirates.

Torres Believes Spain Can Still Do Well

After suffering humiliation in the opening group match against Netherlands, pressure is on the Spaniards to deliver on the next match against Chile. Fernando Torres, who has been one of the leading goal scorers in the last few major tournaments, says that the Spanish team is much better than the one that lifted the World Cup in 2010. Spain conceded very few goals in the competition, but there have been warning signs that the defence has been deteriorating. They have been considering a lot of goals of late including the 3-0 defeat against Brazil in the Confederations Cup last summer.

Torres Misfiring For Chelsea

Fernando Torres has been one of Chelsea’s misfiring strikers of this season as he has made over 26 league appearances but only managed on scoring in 5 occasions.

The inconsistency of the Spanish forward as well as Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o underperforming campaign is one of the main reasons on why Jose Mourinho is so desperate on landing a persistent attacker for the upcoming season with Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao at the top his list.
