Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres says that the lack of competition up front at the club coupled with his good form may just be sufficient to see him start the game against Villarreal.

After going through several months without a goal, Torres scored in back-to-back league matches recently. The goals against Eibar and Getafe have renewed confidence that the striker may be on the verge of rediscovering his golden touch, which has deserted him for a number of years now. As a result of these goals, Torres says that he is hoping to be in the starting line-up against Villarreal.
